Esther E. Drew, 89, of Chesapeake Beach, MD and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Thursday evening, January 6, 2011 in Annapolis, MD.

On March 13, 1921 in Tiffin she was born to William S. and Gladys M. (Heilman) Shafer. She married Reginald C. Drew September 5, 1945.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Reg of Chesapeake Beach, MD; son, John Thomas "Tom" (Elise) Drew of MD; daughter, Judy Merriman of MD; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael George Drew, brothers, George and William Shafer, sisters, Dorothy Quentmeyer and Eugenia Marvin.

Esther was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church in North Beach, MD and attended Tiffin Calvert High School. She enjoyed ceramic dolls, golfing, cooking, baking, and painting.

A mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
