Eugene A. Good, Jr., 95, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2017 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on February 17, 1922, in Columbus, Ohio to Eugene A. and Florence (Davis) Good. Eugene was the great grandson of Reuben Good. Reuben and Jeremiah Good founded Heidelberg College in 1850 . On June 11, 1948, in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he married Mary Jane Chapman and she preceded him in death on August 21, 1981. Surviving are their three children, Carolyn (Chuck) Shumway of Mansfield, Stephen (Susie) Good of Hemet, CA and Patricia Good of Fort Mill, SC.

In 1982, he married Meredith Van Dyke who preceded him in death in 1990. Also, surviving Eugene are his stepdaughter, Marsha (Ken) Lehr of Beaufort, SC; grandchildren, Robert, Lindsey and Sara; step granddaughter, Meredith; great grandchild, Finley; step great-grandchildren Haylee and Katelyn; and special friend, Martha Forrest of Tiffin.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marjorie Sheely.

Eugene graduated in 1940 from Tiffin Columbian High School and in 1943 from Miami University with a Business Degree. While at Miami University, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Delta Sigma Pi Business Honorary. After graduating, he served as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1954.

Eugene and his brother-in-law, William Sheely, owned Good's Office Supply. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and served as its Council President. Eugene was a board member of the Ritz Theatre, and was a past President of the Betty Jane Center Trustees. He also was a member of Tiffin Kiwanis Club, Allen Eiry Senior Center, Heidelberg Fellows and the Tiffin Elks Lodge #94. Eugene volunteered at the ecumenical soup kitchen at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed oil painting.

His Memorial Service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 with Rev. Kurt Blaufuss officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 N. Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
