Evelyn M. (Linthicum) Rochester, 97, of Tiffin, passed away Monday August 28, 2012 at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
Evelyn was born on June 19, 1915 in Melmore, Ohio to Henry and Elnora (Stuckey) Hushour. She was married first to Herman Linthicum and then to Silus Rochester. Both preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, James D. (Ruth) Linthicum of Tiffin; 3 grandsons, James R. (Kayla) Linthicum, Michael (Lisa) Linthicum and Arthur (Donna) Linthicum; and 8 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Evelyn was employed at several places in her life; The Sterling Co., The Tiffin GE, The Meadow Gold Dairy and she retired from The RCA in Findlay. She was a graduate of Melmore High School, a volunteer for the Ritz, The Tiffin Public Library and a member of the Seneca County Historical Society and Trinity United Church of Christ. She loved gardening, oil painting and nature trips.
Her funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1-3:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or a charity of the donor's choice.
