Florence Mary Ball, 101, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.

On February 8, 1910 in Tiffin, she was born to Henery and Mary (Clouse) Boes. She married Oscar Ball January 6, 1931.

Survivors include her sons, Arthur (Loretta) Ball and Larry (Liz) Ball both of Tiffin; Joe Ball of Bloomville; daughters, Maggie Lee of Bloomdale; Martha Kent of Tiffin; Rita Bohrer of Bloomville; 25 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 39 great great grandchildren, son in law, Danny Reed of Melmore; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oscar in 1960, daughters, Eugenia Smith, Helen Stone, Mary Reed; brothers, Leo Boes, Clarence Boes, Eugene Boes; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 1 great great grandchild.

Florence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was the housekeeper for the priest house for many years, St. Joseph Rosary Altar Society, past president, secretary, and treasurer for St. Ann Women's Auxiliary. She also worked at the Tiffin Glass House before raising her family. She enjoyed gardening, her houseplants, crocheting, quilting, and playing cards. Florence received Mother of the Year through the Ohio Department of Developmentally Disabled and Mental Retardation in 1981 and was a board member for the Seneca County Opportunity Center. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

A mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools, or to Community Hospice Care.
