Florence R. Lewis, 88, of rural Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, January 1, 2017 at her home.

On December 30, 1928 in Sandusky, OH; she was born to Albert and Henrietta (Ofenburg) Hartley. She married Dale W. Lewis on April 10, 1948 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde, OH.

Survivors include her husband Dale of 68 years; daughter, Sandra (Ronald) Sporl of Slidell, CA; two sons, Robert E. (Diane) Lewis of Paw Paw, MI and Gary R. (Amy) Lewis of Huron; sister, Eunice Behm of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Hartley; two sisters, Katherine Weiland and Betty Gnepper; and grandson, David Lewis.

Florence was a bus driver for 33 ½ years with Mohawk Schools and farmed with her husband, Dale. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she helped with funeral dinners, after church refreshments and volunteered during the Heritage Festival. She enjoyed traveling and taking local drives around the countryside.

Her service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Kurt Blaufuss officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
