Flossie B. Padgett, 89, of Tiffin, passed away Monday evening, March 31, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on May 6, 1924, in Powell County, Kentucky to David and Nettie (Ware) White. On March 19, 1942, she married Jesse Willard Padgett in Somerset, KY.
Survivors include seven of her 12 children, Linda Faeth, of Tiffin, Marsha (Randall) Wasson, of Wapakoneta, Sylvia (Ken) Wilson of Porter, ME, Brenda (Mike) Bivens of Stamping Ground, KY, Mattie (Steve) Miller of Republic, Connie (Terry) Traxler of Tiffin, Debbie (Bruce) Lewin of Kelso, WA; 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; and 9 step-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jesse "Willard"; 5 children, Ronald Eugene, Jackie Wilton, Stanley Ray, Larry Chris and Mary Christine; and 1 grandson, Steven Cozine.
Flossie worked for Electric Partsin Georgetown, KY and also did alterations for 1-Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaning. She enjoyed flowers and plants, especially African Violets and was a NASCAR fan. Flossie was a great cook and was famous for her cornbread stuffing and biscuits and gravy and she attributed her long life to Oreo cookies.
Visitation will be Monday, April 7 at 6:00 p.m. followed by her memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Long Lick Baptist Church in Stamping Ground, KY. A "Celebration of Life" for the family is planned for Sunday, May 4th at Meadowbrook Park in Bascom, Ohio.
