Forrest R. Hill, 75, of Grand Island, FL and formerly of Tiffin, died Monday morning, August 24, 2009 at his residence in Grand Island.

On June 6, 1934 in Tiffin he was born to Roscoe and Helen (Swander) Hill. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Rose Serin on Jan 9, 1954. She preceded him in death on February 4, 1999. He later married Brenda (Horne)Varney on June 3, 2000 and she survives in Florida.

Other survivors include a son, Richard (Pamela) Hill of Tiffin; daughter, Jane (James) Perry of New Riegel; sister, Betty Hall of Milan; 6 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren, 8 step children, Raymond Varney of Omaha, NE; Robert Varney of Colby, WA; Jason Varney of Tiffin; Karen Tank and Sandra (Tim) Ring both of Tiffin; Carol Varney of Poulsbo, WA; Paula Varney of Moreno Valley, CA; Jane (Michael) LeBlanc of Oswego, NY; 10 step grandchildren and 3 step great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and step son, Stephen Varney.

Forrest retired from Mohawk Schools where he was a custodian and bus driver for Mohawk and McCutchenville schools. He was known as a handyman and enjoyed working on his home, vacationing in Florida and later moving there in 2003.

A Mass will be Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass.

There will be no burial at this time.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
