Obituary

Frederick E. 'Bud' Stine, 84, of Tiffin, died Thursday, January 17, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. On November 13, 1923, he was born in Western Port, MD, to Frederick and Ida V. (Garlitz) Stine. On June 4, 1950, he married Phyllis Gulick in the First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of 57 years, a son, Tom Stine, both of Tiffin, two grandchildren, Cory (Renee) Stine of Port Clinton, Emily (Mark) Malloy of Rocky River and two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Cooper Stine.

Preceding him in death along with his parents is a brother, George Ross and a sister, Marjorie Weber.

Fred was a 1942 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, attended The Ohio State University and was a member of First Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, from 1943-1946. He was member of Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Toledo, a Noble of Zenobia Shrine, a Companion of the York Rite Masons, a Royal Arch Mason of Seneca Chapter 42, a Royal and Select Mason of Clinton Council 47 and a Sir Knight of DeMolay Commandery 9 and member of Seneca County Scottish Rite. He was secretary of the Tiffin Shrine Club for many years, a Hornet and a fifty year member of Tiffin Elk Lodge 94. Bud was a salesman for James Barkley and Co., a 4H Horse Club advisor, a member of Crazy 8's Square Dance Club and a member of the Seneca County Fair Board for over 10 years. After retirement, he worked at the Seneca County Health Dept. as a registered sanitarian. He enjoyed traveling, camping, RVing, gardening and photography. He and his wife vacationed and spent many winters in Mexico and Texas.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 21, 2008 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Brodbeck officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.

Friends may visit with the family 10 - 11:00 AM, Monday January 21, 2008, at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore St., Tiffin.

Memorial contributions can be made to Seneca County Humane Society or Shriner's Hospital - Cincinnati.
