He was born July 29, 1927, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Frederick F. and Louise M. (Homan) Walliser. On August 7, 1971, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Patricia (Frankhart) Zender and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brother, Eugene Walliser and his sister-in-law, Theresa Walliser, both of Tiffin; 2 sisters, Imogene (Hank) Collet and Donna Steinmetz; stepchildren, Cynthia Zender and her husband Lee Herman of Chicago, John Zender of Fremont, Mark (Deb) Zender of Canton, MI and David Zender of Fremont.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lillian Yost.
As a youth, Fred worked on the family farm and graduated from Hopewell Loudon High School. He was active in the Civil Air Patrol and enjoyed aviation history all his life. As a devoted, life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church he was proud to serve on the cemetery board. Fred worked as a carpenter installing church furniture for several years and was very proud of the fact that he helped to install the church pews at the Air Force Academy Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO. He also worked general construction locally; finally retiring from National Machinery Co. in 1991. As a member of the YMCA, he enjoyed swimming, was a fan of The Ohio State University, enjoyed reading a good western and he loved feeding and watching birds from his porch. Fred took great joy in his grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and he was a truly kind and gentle person.
