Garland "Gar" Fitch, Sr., 71, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2016 at Promedica Toledo Hospital.

He was born on July 8, 1944, in Inez, KY, to James and Lona (Bowen) Fitch. On March 29, 1965, he married Gloria J. Runion and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2010.

He is survived by five sons, Garland (Christine Myers) Fitch, Jr. of Tiffin, Lonnie (James Puffenberger) Fitch of Tiffin and Mike (Dale Ann) Fitch of Tiffin, Rick (Beth) Fitch of Republic and Randy (Kristal) Fitch of Tiffin; two sisters, Lillie Price of Tiffin and Mary (Bill) Klewer of Phoenix, AZ; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Arlen, Cecil, Haskel, Nathan, Chester and Burgess; two sisters, Nellie Mills and Hallie Robins; and one great grandson, Jaden Fitch.

Gar was a plant mechanic at Water Pollution Control Center for thirty years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging out with his family and friends.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Fairmont Cemetery with Chaplain Tracy Elder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
