Garold G. Owen, 80, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on December 30, 1933, in Seneca County, to Vyrl H. and Ethel (Kegerreis) Owen. On April 20, 1968, he married Nancy J. Magers and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2012.

Survivors include his 3 daughters, Carol (Brian) Kern of Tiffin, Judy Owen of Syracuse, NY and Debi (Randy) Nichols of New Riegel; and 3 grandchildren, Mason, Jacob and Natalie Nichols.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Glenice Lloyd and Lois Escheneuer.

Garold graduated in 1951 from Jackson Liberty High School, attended Tiffin University and served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1962. He retired as a foreman in 1996, after 39 years from Basic Refractories and was a member of Green Springs American Legion and Tiffin Moose Lodge #846. He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre; visiting Amish Country; going on bus trips around the country and visiting casinos. Garold built his house and also enjoyed intarsia woodworking.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Tress Hodkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family from 5-8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
