Gayle Ann Kraut, 60, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday evening, March 13, 2016 at Kobacker House in Columbus, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 26, 1955 in Milwaukee, WI, to Eugene F. and
Rita (Manteufel) Koprowski. On June 30, 1979, she married Wlliam "Bill" Kraut.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Tiffin; two sons, Matthew (Carolyn) Kraut of Findlay and Andrew (Jessika) Kraut of Hudson; brother, Gary (Rhonda) Koprowski of Wauwatosa, WI; brother-in-law, Joseph (Laura) Kraut of Yelm, Washington; three sisters-in-law, Sabrina (Brent) Rainey of Anchorage, Alaska, Kathleen (Roy) Funk of Park Falls, WI and Christine (David) Drew of New Berlin, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her Golden Retriever, Dudley.
Gayle graduated from St. Mary Academy in Milwaukee, WI and received her Bachelor's degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin. In 1988, she moved from Milwaukee to Tiffin and worked as a special education teacher at Washington, Krout, Noble, Clinton, and Lincoln schools. She will be remembered by her students and staff for her unconditional love and helping her students believe in themselves so they can succeed in life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering there. She also enjoyed shopping, antiques, flying with her husband, visiting the Amish Country, relaxing at the family cottage in Wisconsin, and spending time with her friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tiffin Elementary PTO or to a charity of the donor's choice.
