Gene Edward Allebach, 80, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning July 29, 2016 in Tiffin, Ohio.

He was born on April 23, 1936, in Oil City, PA to the late John and Hazel (Buck) Allebach. On June 14, 1980, he married Phyllis M. Mazzaferro.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Tiffin; sister, Patricia Daugherty of Oil City, PA; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patty (Tom) Moore of Circleville, Ohio.

Gene graduated from Oil City High School and from Fenn College (which is now Cleveland State) with a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering. While going to Fenn College, he worked in their Co-op program. He retired in April of 1996, after 36 years, as a research and development engineer from National Machinery. He was most proud of being a member of their National Quarter Century Club. While working at National Machinery, he held individual, as well as collectively with co-workers, numerous patents. After retirement, Gene enjoyed working part-time at Tiffin Foundry for several years.. Gene was a very skillful photographer, was a 50 year member of the Photographic Society of America and several other photographic clubs and was an award-winning photographer of the United Insurance Westfield calendar contest for many years. He was also a member of the North American Model Engine Building Society.

Friends may visit with the family from 5-7:00 P.M. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. The National Machinery Quarter Century Club will meet in body at 7:00 P.M.

His funeral service will be private and burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery.
