Obituary

Gene R. "Dick" Finn, 96, of Fostoria, died Saturday morning, June 14, 2014 with a dear friend by his side at Fostoria Community Hospital.

On February 25, 1918 in Tiffin, he was born to Frederick and Maude Charlotte (Sager) Finn. He married Vera Yuonne Adams on February 21, 1941 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Tiffin and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2007.

Survivors include his niece, Janiece Hoehn of Florida; nephew, Willard Smith of Georgia; many more nieces and nephews and a dear friend who was like a granddaughter to him Kari Keiffer.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Burton C. Finn; sister in law Margaret Finn and cousin, Helen Brown.

Dick was a 1937 graduate of Old Fort High School and worked for the Austin Company steel fabricating division, Cleveland where he was a accounting manager working in Ontario, Canada, Knoxville and Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Bowling Green, Kentucky and several locations in Medina and Paulding, Ohio for 36 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge No. 77, Eastern Star and Zenobia Shrine Toledo Chapter.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. With Rev. James Mussman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Children's Home, Shrine Burn Hospital or Good Shepherd Home.
