Genora B. "Nora Bell" "Granny" Cardwell, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at her home.
She was born on July 18, 1935, in Whitesburg, KY to James Monroe and Ocie (Holcomb) Cornett. On April 05, 1970, she married William W. Cardwell, II and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, William W. (Edana Carter) Cardwell, III of Tiffin; daughters, Roberta Jones of Republic, Joanie Albright, and Mary Lou Gosche, both of Tiffin; sisters, Mary Lou Miller of Tiffin, Linda Reed and Judy Breeding of Lilly, KY; 15 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sons, Michael G. Holcomb and David W. Cornett; daughter, Sharon Gibson; brothers, Cecil Cornett, E.L. Cornett, John Cornett, Ron Cornett, Jack Cornett and Ernie Cornett; sisters, Norma Young, Kathy J. Cornett and Dempsey Cornett; and her dog, Chico.
Genora was a nurse's aide at Autumnwood Care Center and a beloved bartender at Bel-Mar for years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers, and spending time with her family in Whitesburg. Family was very important to Genora and she loved spending time with them.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-5:00 P.M. on Friday, March 01, 2024 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A time of reflection will follow the visitation at 5:00 P.M.
