Obituary

George E. "Mike" Cramer, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 5, 2015 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on May 11, 1927, in New Washington, to John and Odelia (Burger) Cramer. On November 7, 1953, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, he married Norma Jean Peiffer.

Surviving are is his wife, Norma Jean of Tiffin; daughter, Charlene Wood of Tiffin; six sons, Ronald Cramer of Tiffin, Eldon (Jennie) Cramer and Paul (Jodi) Cramer, both of Findlay, Joseph Cramer of Delaware, Tom (Sharon) Cramer of Elkhorn, Nebraska and John (Dona) Cramer of Plant City, FL; brother, Willard "Jim" (Mary Jo) Cramer of Bucyrus; sisters, Beatrice Clouse of New Riegel and Ruth Weir of New Washington; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Alfred and Richard; sister, Viola Shell; and one grandchild, Danielle Robinson in 2011.

Mike served in the United States Army, stationed in Austria, and was a lifelong farmer. He loved to drive his tractor and always wanted to be working on his farm. After retiring, Mike enjoyed waving to everyone driving down U.S. 224. He was a 4-H advisor, board of director of Bascom Elevator and was a member of the Ohio Holstein Association, National Holstein Association, Seneca County Agricultural Hall of Fame, National Farmer's Organization, Seneca County Farm Bureau, Milk Marketing, Inc., New Washington Knights of Columbus, Seneca County Dairy Service Unit, Dairy Herd Improvement Association and the Northern Ohio Breeders Association. Mike enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and enjoyed playing cards; especially Euchre.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Sts. Patrick & Andrew Church, Bascom with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Bascom with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake will begin at 1:30 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Patrick & Andrew Catholic Church, Bascom, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
