George Michael Sauber, 73, of Tiffin, went to be with his daughter, Dawn, Saturday evening, March 18, 2017 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born on June 4, 1943, in Tiffin, to Charles and Sylvia (Funk) Sauber. On June 29, 1968, he married Linda Park.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Tiffin; brother, Joe (Donna) Sauber of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Sauber; brother, Jim Sauber; sister, Kay Ranker; and half sister, Gretchen Bartley.
George graduated from Hopewell Loudon High School in 1961. He owned Saubers Meat in Fostoria from 1970 to 1987, Frosted Food for a few years and was a logger for ten years in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Amvets Post #48, Tiffin Eagles #402, VFW Post #2858, Tiffin Moose #846, Sycamore American Legion Post #250 and Fostoria Sportsman Club. George enjoyed sports, golfing, boating and wintering in Florida for the past twenty-six years.
His graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the Stumble Inn, Bascom. Please wear casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice, 15100 Birchhaven Lane, Findlay, OH 45840, Humane Society of Seneca County or to F.A.C.T.
