Geraldine Marie "Gerry" Kirchner, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2013 at St. Francis Home.

She was born October 13, 1920, in Tiffin, to Charles and Anna (Albert) Ecker. On May 7, 1946, she married John G. Kirchner and he preceded her in death August 28, 1975.

Survivors include 3 sons: John G. Kirchner II of Kayenta, AZ; Michael C. (Mary) Kirchner of Fort Mill, SC; and Mark J. (Alyson) Kirchner of Houston, TX; 2 daughters: Suann M. (Jerry) Cunningham of Fremont and Julie B. (Bill) Malvey of Ladera Ranch, CA; 3 grandchildren: John Cunningham, Beth Autullo and Jacob Cunningham; and 8 great-grandchildren: Hayley, Ariana, Kayla, Evan, Aidan, Ava, Brien and Blake.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 sisters: Elizabeth Hohman and Cecilia Frederick.

Gerry graduated in 1939 from Tiffin Calvert High School and in 1942 from Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo. She was an RN at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin for over 30 years retiring in 1985 and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Nurses Association and Mercy Hospital Retirees. After retiring, she volunteered at the hospital and the Ritz Theatre. Gerry enjoyed music, dancing, cruising and traveling around the world.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Tiffin St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 3-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:00 P.M.
