Gearldyn Y. "Gerry" Ferstler, 92, of Tiffin, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her home.

She was born on March 10, 1919, in Eden Twp., to Louis P. and Jessie Florence (Feighner) Boroff. On December 31, 1937, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, OH she married Louis P. Ferstler. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Survivors include two sons, James Ferstler and John (Betty) Ferstler, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Mary (James) Durnwald of Tiffin, Ohio and Regina (Thomas) Szymanowski of Fremont, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; daughter-in-law, Joyce Ferstler; three sisters, Dorothy Hollar, Addah Mae Kight and Mary Bell Mooney; one infant sister; 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Gerry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of F.O.E. Tiffin #402 Auxiliary, Tiffin Women of the Moose #846 Auxiliary and the Allen Eiry Senior Center. She retired, after 20 years, as a cook at Tiffin Developmental Center. Gerry enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards, bingo and liked to play the organ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the mass. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 4-8:00 P.M and on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 10-10:45 A.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Wake service will begin at 7:45 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Community Hospice Care, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
