Guadalupe "Lupe" Vera, 84, of Tiffin, died Wednesday evening, August 19, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.

On May 2, 1925 in Corpus Christi, TX; she was born to Sabino and Josephina (Garcia) Lara. She married Vincent Vera on July 3, 1944 at the Church of our Lady of Guadalupe in Houston, TX.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Vincent, son, David (Susan) Vera of Carey; daughters, Lupe Rodriguez (John Ricci), Gloria (Bob) Hayes and Sue (Jim) Schock all of Tiffin; Alice (Dave) Keefe of New Riegel; Martha (Jerry) Boehler of Perrysburg; Josie (Jon) Nutter of Tiffin; brothers, Dan Lara of California; Sabino Lara of Houston, TX; sister, Martha (Harry) Avalos of Houston, TX; 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Bobby Vera in 2001, and daughter, Virginia, brother, Iser Lara, and sister, Aenida Garcia.

Lupe was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a homemaker. She loved raising her family and spending time with the grandchildren. Lupe played cards every Friday night with her family and enjoyed going to the lake, attending area festivals and her plants and flowers.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 min. prior to mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends are invited to a luncheon after the burial at St. Mary School.
