Harold A. Coppus, Jr., 95, of Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Independence House, Fostoria.

He was born on June 23, 1927, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Harold A. and Gertrude V. (Jordan) Coppus, Sr.  On September 9, 1948, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, he married Lois Aileen Sperow, after dating for six years.

Survivors include his sons, Richard (Connie) Coppus and Michael (Karen) Coppus, both of Tiffin, David (Sandy) Coppus of Bascom, Roger Coppus, Kenneth (Debra) Coppus and John (Laurie) Coppus, all of Fostoria; daughter, Janet Strausbaugh of Upper Sandusky; brother, Donovan (Shirley) Coppus of Fostoria; sister, Karen Gerona of Florida; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Aileen Coppus; brothers, Duane Coppus and James Coppus; sister, Betty Libby; and great grandson, Bryce David Coppus.

Harold was a 1946 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School.  He was a life-time farmer, raised livestock and shorthorn cattle with his brother, Donovon.  Growing up, Harold was a member of St. John's UCC in Fostoria.  He was an excavator and owned Coppus Dozing, was a Loudon Twp. Trustee for nine years, enjoyed trips to the Amish Country, visiting the Smoky Mountains, bowling and golfing.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at All Saints Parish with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bascom.
