Obituary

Harold A. 'Dutch' Miller, 88, of Tiffin, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin.

January 15, 1920, he was born in Garrett County, PA, to Edward and Margaret Cordelia (Garlitz) Miller. January 18, 1941, he married Helen L. Kirian in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen, three sons, Robert Bruce (Nancy) Miller of Tiffin, Rodney H. (Anna) Miller of Albuquerque, NM, Lt. Col. Dale A. Miller serving in Iraq, and his wife, Akemi, of Irvine, CA, four daughters, Wanda L. Haubert of New Riegel, Sandra K. Shafer of Prince George, VA, Sharon L. (Butch) Ebersole of Republic, Linda A. (Rob) Molyett of Attica, two sisters, Romaine Smith of Cumberland, MD, Elva L. (John) Kirian of Republic, 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death along with his parents are 4 brothers, H. Clay, Paul D., Joseph and Cecil Miller, two sisters, Lucille Zinn and Mildred Bittinger.

Dutch was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a farmer and night watchman for 41 years at Sterling ITT Abrasive Grinding Wheel Company. He was a life member of VFW Post 2858, and DAV Post 34, a member of American Legion Post 169, Seneca County Farm Bureau, River Springs Co-op Association and Tiffin Moose Lodge #846. Dutch proudly served in the Army Air Corp during WWII from 1943-1945.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.

Friends may visit with the family at 2-5 or 6-8, Friday, February 29, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
