Obituary

Harold J. 'Jim' Heyman, 66, of Tiffin, died Thursday morning, October 30, 2008, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

July 20, 1942, he was born to Arnold Sr. and Dora Mae (Steele) Heyman. He married and divorced Sharon Vogel who preceded him in death. November 27, 1970, he married Paulette Sheffer.

Survivors include his wife Paulette, two sons, Jeff (Theresa) Heyman, all of Tiffin, Brian Heyman of Celina, three daughters, Deb (Tim) Cessna of Republic, Krista (Albert) Silio of Chicago, IL, Beth Heyman of Tiffin, three brothers, Donald (Kathleen) Heyman, Dave (Dorothy) Heyman, John (Betty) Heyman, all of Tiffin, a sister, Vera Berry of Upper Sandusky, and nine grandchildren.

Preceding him death along with his parents are four brothers, Arnold Jr., Howard, Paul and Clayton Heyman, and three sisters, Mary Lentz, Frances Shellhouse and Doris Alspach.

Jim was a 1960 graduate of Republic High School. He worked at Basic Refractories and owned Sixes Corners (Sohio) Gas Station and the Sunoco Station in Republic. He was a Seneca County Deputy Sheriff and the Chief of Police in Republic for many years. He drove school bus for Republic and most recently worked for many years at Baumgardner Co. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing and gambling.

His funeral service is 1:00 PM, Monday afternoon, November 3, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Boylan officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family 4-7 PM, Sunday, November 2, or Noon - 1:00 PM, Monday, November 3, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 419-447-2424.

Memorial contributions can be made to Autumnwood Care Center or a charity of the donor's choice.
