Harold A. Scherger, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, December 2, 2015 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born on April 2, 1922, in Liberty Township, to Albert A. and Christina M. (Brickner) Scherger. On April 11, 1950, he married Betty Jane Parkins and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2015.

Survivors include his daughter, Sydney (Tim) Schultz of Tiffin; and son-in-law, Mike Litten of Avon.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy Litten; and two brothers, Paul and Victor Scherger.

Harold served in the United States Coast Guard, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and retired from Whirlpool in Clyde, Ohio.

His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be private in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the St. Mary Rec Room.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass on Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
