Helen R. Swartzmiller, 86, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at St. Francis Home.

She was born on December 17, 1933, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Henry M. and Maria G. (Hoerig) Anderson.  On October 1, 1955, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married Harold W. "Jake" Swartzmiller and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2008.

Survivors include her son, Steven (Lynette) Swartzmiller of Columbus; daughter, Brenda (Mike) Soto of Westerville; brother, Richard Anderson of Tiffin; sisters, Florence (Charles) Parkins and Marge Wilhelm, both of Tiffin; four grandchildren and a special friend, Bumb Fleck of Findlay.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Anderson, Robert Anderson and Thomas Anderson; and sister, Mary Prindle.

Helen graduated in 1952 from Calvert High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Rosary Altar Society.  She enjoyed volunteering for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, American Cancer Society and the Josephine's.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
