May 23, 1939 – March 22, 2025
Helen L. Brownell, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 22, 2025, at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Green Springs.
On May 23, 1939, in Crawford County, she was born to Russell and Bernice (Ruch) Holman. She married Arthur J. Brownell on November 10, 1959, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include only child and caregiver, Robin (Kevin Young) Brownell of Tiffin; sister, Bernita Geary of Bloomville; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of friends she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Charles Holman, and her dog, Ruby.
Helen was a 1957 graduate of Lykens High School and worked at the original Molyets Market for years. She was the secretary at Rural Serv. In Old Fort for over 20 years before retiring. Helen enjoyed driving in the country, watching the birds, but most of all having some ice cream. Even though she battled dementia for 10 years, she remained cheerful until the end.
A Heartfelt thank you to Spring Creek staff for making her feel special, also to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion.
