Helen M. McCartan, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning, September 1, 2010, at her home.

On May 30, 1917, she was born in New Riegel to Amadues and Elnora (Kelbley) Lonsway. On October 25, 1949, she married Daniel B. McCartan in St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Brian (Beth) McCartan of Dayton; and Eric D. McCartan of Tiffin; two daughters, Maureen McCartan of Tiffin; and Lorraine (Jerry) Senci of Troy, IL; a sister, Anne Botton of Tiffin; 6 grandchildren, Steve, Matt and David Senci; Kristie Schoonover; Dan McCartan and Kate McCartan.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Daniel, on February 27, 1998, are five brothers, Alton, Firmin, Clifford, Ernest and Clarence Lonsway; a sister, Dolores Miller; an infant sister, Mary Lucille Lonsway; and a granddaughter, Shannon McCartan.

She was a 1935 graduate of New Riegel High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

There is no visitation; however, her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM, Friday, September 3, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
