IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen J.
Weller
January 18, 1921 – January 22, 2013
Helen Jane Weller, 92, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Volunteers of America, Autumnwood Care Center. She resided there since her husband Robert's death in 2005. Helen was born at home in Sycamore, Ohio on January 18, 1921 to Della (Barton) Koehl and Fred G. Koehl. She graduated from Sycamore High School in 1939 and from Toledo Beauty School, Toledo.
She married Robert L. Weller on November 25, 1944 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Julie (Sid) Sink of Bowling Green and Jayne (Jeff) Loudenslager of Hilliard; 4 grandchildren, Nathan (Jaime) Nitecki of Tiffin, and Jason (Heather) Loudenslager, Jenni (Russ) Payne and Joe Loudenslager, all of Hilliard; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert; 2 infant sons; daughter, Janet (Weller) Young, sister Louise Levee; and a great granddaughter, Ava Nitecki.
After graduating from Beauty School, Helen moved to Tiffin and was employed at the Styl-Art Beauty Salon on S. Washington Street. Soon afterward she bought the Salon from the retiring owner and continued to work there until she became a full time mother and homemaker. She also worked for her husband at the Bowl O Drome Bowling Alley that he co-owned in Tiffin for several years before selling it. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and also Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #402. Raising their three daughters was her greatest joy in life. She also delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, even into her later years when her memory was impaired, she so enjoyed their presence. As her children left home, she found a hobby in collecting various glassware and collectables. She enjoyed the social aspect and all the friends she made at local flea markets in Bowling Green and Perrysburg. She had great compassion for all and was caregiver to many elderly relatives.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Autumnwood Care Center; especially the staff on Freedom Hall. The compassionate care she received there for 8 years was exceptional and we can never thank them enough.
