Howard J. Koehl, 74, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on April 28, 1950 in Tiffin Mercy Hospital to George H. and Marybelle (Spence) Koehl.  He married his wife, Shirley A. Koehl (Wilkinson) on May 3, 1975 in Trinity United Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Leslie A. Koehl (Jessie C. Sherman) of Cincinnati; son, Aaron C. Koehl (Meranda L. Koehl), grandsons Jacob A. Koehl, Aiden J. Koehl, and Alex G. Koehl, all of Tiffin; and his brother, James G. Koehl (Lin Talbot-Koehl), also of Tiffin.

Howard retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 34 years as Transportation Manager. Following retirement, he worked several part-time jobs including in the meat department at Tiffin Kroger and in maintenance at Tiffin City Schools. Howard loved spending time with his beautiful grandchildren in their pool over the summer. He also enjoyed watching Cleveland Indians baseball, Cleveland Browns football and was incredibly excited to support and watch his Ohio State Buckeyes win a National Championship this year.

A Celebration of Life will be from 4-7:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Moose Lodge, 1146 SR 53, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.  Please dress in OSU, Cleveland Indians or Cleveland Browns gear to help toast our father.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of choice.
