Irene Walters, 82, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, June 10, 2010 at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

On March 6, 1928 in New Riegel she was born to Peter and Antoinette (Huss) Elchert. She married Paul R. "Dick" Walters on May 10, 1947 in New Riegel.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Dick; three sons, Larry J. Walters of Tiffin; Ron L.(Sue) Walters of AZ; Rev. Gary R. Walters of Tiffin; a daughter, Pamela A. (William) Robinson of Bucyrus; two brothers, Richard (Monica) Elchert of Germany; Fred (Anna) Elchert of New Riegel; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, along with her parents, are two sisters, Bertha Rogier and Valeria Bentz; and three brothers, Gerald, Edmund, and an infant brother, Loren Elchert.

Irene was a graduate of New Riegel High School and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was also an inspector at General Electric.

Her mass of Christian burial will be Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, with her son, Rev Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
