Isabell A. Bumb, 95, of Alvada, passed away Sunday morning, November 23, 2008, at Elmwood at the Shawhan of Tiffin.
She was born May 16, 1913 to Joseph and Lena (Karch) Elchert. On May 12, 1942, she married Harold J. Bumb, who died January 12, 1984.
Survivors include her children, Marlene Seifert of Tiffin, La Donna (Richard) Hucke of Carey, Berneda Brady of Sycamore, Gerald (Shirley) Bumb of Sycamore, Delbert (Karen) Bumb of New Riegel, Percilla (Dennis) Nye of New Riegel, and Richard (Chris) Bumb of Alvada, a sister, Rita Steyer of Florida, a sister-in-law Frieda Elchert of Carey, and 24 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchilren, and 9 great-great- grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Harold J. Bumb, parents, Joseph and Lena Elchert, a son Ronald, son-in-laws, Kenneth E. Geyman, Kenneth R. Seifert and Gordon M. Brady; brothers Eugene, Louis, Paul, Carl, and sisters, Florence Elchert, Agnes Piper, and Cordilla Sendelbach.
Isabell enjoyed playing the piano and in her earlier years she had performed in orchestras for many dances. She was a wonderful mother and a grandmother, who always baked pies, cookies and noodles for her family. Isabell was a hard worker and took great pride in working with her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed flower gardening, embroidery and watching Lawrence Welk, soaps, Wheel-Of-Fortune and Jeopardy.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30am Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at All Saints Parish Church in New Riegel, with Rev. Ron Schock and Rev. Randy Giesige con-celebrating. A rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family, 2-8pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will be 7:45pm.
Memorial contributions can be made to, All Saints Parish Church, or All Saints Parish for the Masses, or Donor's Choice.
