Jack R. Staib, 76, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, may 9, 2011 at his home.
On May 16, 1934 in Tiffin, he was born to Lewis V. and Berdene (Martin) Staib.
Jack and Madeline Staib had 3 sons, Richard L. Val) Staib of Ft. Myers, FL; John B. (Heather) Staib of Colorado Springs, CO; Tony R. (Karen) Staib of Gahanna, OH; and a daughter, Cheryl M. (Murphy) Lewis of Niles, OH; 6 grandchildren, Colin Staib, Eric Staib, Nathan Staib, Logan Lewis, Jacklyn Staib and Ian Staib. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mary Jo Murphy and Cherie B. Ponce, both of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jan Staib.
Jack was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 169, life time member of VFW posts in Tiffin and Vice Commander in Franklin, NC. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during Korea from 1951 to 1955 and later re-enlisted until 1957. He moved back to Tiffin in 2008 after 20 years in North Carolina.
There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 2858 in Tiffin.
