Obituary

James Brandt, 73, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday morning, August 08, 2025 at The Courtyard at Tiffin.

He was born on October 29, 1951, in Tiffin to Robert G. and Alma (Depinet) Brandt.  On January 24, 1970, he married Diana Shuff and she preceded him in death on November 23, 2016.

Survivors include his sons, Jamie (Miranda) Brandt, of Galena and Dr. Jeffrey (Wesley) Sasser-Brandt of Carmel, CA; brother, Donald (Stephanie) Brandt of Findlay; sisters, Diane (Joe) Strausbaugh of New Riegel, Rebecca (Jeanise Hoeffel) Brandt of Republic and Lesa (Don) Walter of Fostoria; grandchildren, Kylie Brandt and Jamison Brandt and special friend, Denise Conger.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Bradley Brandt; and grandchild, Ryann Brandt.

James was a member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel and a 1969 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School.  He worked at American Standard nearly 40 years and later retiring from Cooper Tire in Findlay.   Jim bred, raised and showed Quarter Horses for years.  He enjoyed camping, traveling the U.S., especially out west, Mexico and the Caribbean with his wife.  Family meant everything to him, coaching his son's little league baseball team, attending the grandkids sporting events, four wheeling with the family, and visiting elderly relatives. Jim never met a stranger; he could make friends wherever he went.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
