James Felton, Jr., 84, of Bloomville, passed away Wednesday morning, March 21, 2012 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born on May 15, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, to James and Essie (Wills) Felton, Sr. On December 13, 1947, he married Jean Ann Loveland.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; two sons, Dr. James M. (Lisa) Felton of Tiffin, Ohio and Mark (Lisa) Felton of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; sister, Doris Kemper of Florida; two grandchildren, Katie Tardiff and Amy Gerfen; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Nicholas Gerfen and Karen Felton of Jenera, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Victor Felton; and an infant son.

James was in the United States Navy serving in WWII from 1945 to 1946. He worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in engineering and planning, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the VFW OH Post 5434 in Union, Ohio, AmVets Post 48 in Tiffin, American Legion Post 487 in West Milton, Ohio, Seneca Lodge #790 in Republic, Ohio, and the Englewood Blue Lodge since 1973. James enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and he loved his dog, Mitzy.

A Masonic service will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack-Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. Burial will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, in Dayton, Ohio, with military honors being conducted by American Legion Post #707.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 23, 2012, from 3-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
