James H. Wise, 76, of McCutchenville, passed away Tuesday morning, October 23, 2012 at his home.

He was born on November 10, 1936, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Henry and Loretta (Roth) Wise. On September 6, 1958 he married Mary J. Arend.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; 3 sons, Thomas (Rhonda) Wise of Stryker, Joe (Aubrey) Wise, of Tiffin and Daniel J (Kelly) Wise of McCutchenville; 3 daughters, Kathy (Denny) Brodman, of Carey, Linda (Jim Romanko) Hetzel of Sycamore and Theresa (Mike) Stine, of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren, Craig, Casey, Cory, Jessica, Shawn, David, Brandon, Lena, Dean, Doug and Wyatt; and 5 great grandchildren, Jordyn, Taylor, Brayden, Elle and Elyn.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Jim attended Tiffin Calvert High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He worked in maintenance at Hayes-Albion for 15 years, DJ's Construction with his son for years,a blacksmith and farmed around the McCutchenville area for many years. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #402 and Tiffin Moose Lodge #846. Jim enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, dogs, horses, race horses and family gatherings.

His Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday October 26, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Roemmele officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel South Bend Cemetery, McCutchenville. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake service will begin at 3:30 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the Seneca County Humane Society.
