James S. "Jim" Hines, 61, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, December 20, 2016 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on May 4, 1955 in Tiffin, Ohio to James and Mary (Monaco) Hines. On February 29, 2008, he married Sherry L. "Sis" Eddington.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry of Tiffin; two sons, Dustin Hines of Tiffin, Ohio and Greg (Charita) Hartman of Bettsville; daughter, Jocelyn Hines of Tiffin; sister, Nancy Troyer of Tulsa, OK; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Bob Clouse) Cook of Tiffin, Robin (Eric) McCormack of Bascom and Becky (Rob) Eoff of Oak Harbor; brother-in-law, Ed (Laura) Eddington of Frenchtown; and nine grandchildren, Tristan Hines, Aidan Smith, Isabella Smith, Lily Smith, Ava Hines, Arie Hines, Wyatt Hines, Gage Hartman and Gracie Hartman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Benjamin Hines; half brother, Gary Offenburgh; three sisters, Gina Hines, Sue E. Williams and Margaret Liston; and grandchild, Gavin Hartman.

Jim graduated in 1974 from Tiffin Calvert High School and did masonry work at Studer and Obringer in New Washington, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Tiffin Moose #846 and New Riegel Moose #872 and enjoyed watching westerns, hunting, fishing, cheating at cards, hanging out with his friends and riding his Harley and keeping it spotless. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and was a very caring and giving man.

His Memorial Service will be at 7:15 P.M. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Service at the funeral home. The family request that you please dress casual.
