'Jim' Weimerskirch
October 9, 1922 – February 6, 2008
James I.'Jim' Weimerskirch, 85, of Tiffin, died Wednesday morning, February 6 2008, at Elmwood Assisted Living at the Shawhan. On October 9, 1922, he was born in Tiffin, to August and Ida (Blechinger) Weimerskirch. June 26, 1946, he married Marian K. Miller.
Survivors include a son, Ted J. (Becky) Weimerskirch of Ft. Wayne, IN, two daughters, Ann M. O'Mara, Amy L. Hines, a sister, Maryann Koby, all of Tiffin, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death along with his parents, and his wife, Marian on April 15, 2004, are a son, Joseph Weimerskirch, in 1992, three brothers, Carl, Elmer, and Paul Weimerskirch, and a grandson, Benjamin Hines in 1975.
Jim was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1942-1946. He loved to golf and bowl and was known for his vegetable garden, where he built a greenhouse and grew vegetables from seed. He repaired televisions and tv towers and owned 'James TV and Radio'. He retired from Hayes Albion.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 AM, Monday, February 11, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.
Friends may visit with the family 10-10:45 AM, Monday, February 11, 2008, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
