Obituary

James D. "Jim" Kirian, 88, of McCutchenville, passed away on Monday evening, March 2, 2015 at his home.

He was born on January 18, 1927, in New Riegel, Ohio, to Clifford and Philomena (Reinhart) Kirian. On May 3, 1952, in St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown, Ohio, he married Joan R. Haubert.

Survivors include his wife, Joan of McCutchenville; 3 sons, Leonard (Rita) Kirian of New Riegel, Kevin (Bernie) Kirian of Tiffin and Keith (Katrina) Kirian of Bloomville; 4 daughters, Elaine (Dan) Borer of New Riegel, Jeanette (Duane) Nye of Alvada, Donna (Delbert) Morter of Sycamore and Darlene (Pat) Mack of Carey; daughter-in-law, Deborah Kirian of Carey; brother, Ralph Kirian of New Riegel; 2 sisters, Rose Mary (Richard) Depinet of Republic and Clara Mae (Lew) Tish of Bucyrus; 30 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gerald Kirian in 2014; brother, Joe Kirian; and sister, Mildred Depinet.

Jim served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged on November 13, 1947. Jim was a farmer all his life and worked at Sterling Abrasive/ITT, the Elevator in New Riegel and at Excello and Home Window Company in Fostoria. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, the Wyandot County Farm Bureau, the National Farmers Organization, the New Riegel Moose Lodge 872, the American Legion Post 354, New Riegel and the Knights of Columbus. Jim enjoyed traveling around the United States, farming, playing bingo, cards, horseshoes and spending time with his family. Jim was always smiling and forever young at heart.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Frenchtown with Rev. Timothy Kummerer and Rev. John Stowe concelebrating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in All Saints Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel Cemetery, Frenchtown with military honors being conducted by the New Riegel American Legion.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 3:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Consolation Elevator Campaign or a charity of the donor's choice.
