James L. "Jim" Repp, 79, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday morning, November 10, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on August 5, 1935, in Tiffin, to Harvey M. and Gertrude (Johnson) Repp. On September 14, 1957, in St. Mary Catholic Church, he married Rachel M. Bland and she preceded him in death on September 7, 2007. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Eugene and Don Repp; and sister, Joann Polka.
Survivors include his son, Mark (Laurie) Repp of Tiffin and daughter, Ann (Michael Collyer) Repp of Chicago, IL; 3 grandchildren, Owen, Katie and Rachel Repp, all of Tiffin; and sisters-in-law, Dolores Repp of Jensen Beach, FL, Patricia (Jerry) Sauber of Sandusky, Georgianna Widmer of Fostoria, and Kathleen Malling of Ashburn, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1953 and The Ohio State University. He graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in Pharmacy. Early on he worked at San Mar Pharmacy and then was the head pharmacist at Mercy Hospital; retiring after 25 years. Jim was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Amvets and the Tiffin Elks Lodge #94.
Jim grew up on a farm and continued to farm his whole life. He loved being active, working outdoors and accomplishing things. Jim and Rae had many life-long friends and shared many good times with them. He also loved a good debate and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a compassionate man with a sharp sense of humor. In his last years, his joys were his grandchildren and his dog, Rosie.
His memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. next Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. next Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home.
