James W. "Jim" Smith, 75, of Bellevue, passed away Monday afternoon, July 13, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

He was born on June 18, 1940, in Willard, Ohio, to William and Delores (Holmer) Smith. On May 17, 1965, he married Artys (Schmanke) Miller and they later divorced.

Survivors include his son, Steve (Lisa) Smith of Tiffin; brother, Robert P. (Marge) Smith of Bellevue; sister, Elizabeth Acton of Camp Hills, Maryland.; and grandson, Cody Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathleen "Dot" Meyer.

Jim served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on August 28, 1962. He was a press operator at Clyde Whirlpool for 41 years and was a member of the Bellevue V.F.W. #1238, Bellevue Eagles #490 and the Bellevue American Legion Post #46. Jim enjoyed playing Euchre and was a Detroit Tiger's Fan.

His Memorial Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Reed Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service at the funeral home.
