Obituary

Jeanne M. Brickner, 75, of Tiffin passed away Saturday afternoon, March 27, 2010 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

On January 30, 1935 in Tiffin, she was born to Virgil and Faun (Troup) Peer. She married Adam J. Brickner on August 2, 1952.

Survivors include, 13 children, Linda (John) Johnson, Sue (Rick) Fretz, John (Carol) Brickner, Tim (Diane) Brickner all of Tiffin; Patti (Chuck) Vandergrift of Mishawaka, IN; Tom (Darlene) Brickner of Atlanta, GA; Joel (Shellie) Brickner of North Augusta, SC; Julie Brickner of Tiffin; Adam P. (Maryann) Brickner of Delta, OH; Jennifer Brickner of Highland Hills, OH; Terry (Neil) Badertscher of Covington, GA; Tina Campos of Johnstown, PA; Sonia Gill, 26 grandchildren, Randy, Mary, Angie, Kevin (Jessica) and Sarah Johnson, Ryan, Anna and Greg Fretz, John Jr. (Kari), Justin, and Joseph Brickner, Kelly (Scott) DeNeve, Christopher (Lauren) Vandergrift, Gene Geoble, Andy Brickner, Anthony Brickner, Joshua and Jamison Brickner, Adam, Hannah, Noah and Seth Brickner, Beau, Jesse and Logan Badertscher and Jamarkus Griggs and 5 great grandchildren, Jaythe Mizen, Tandon Lemmon, Jewelie Scherger, Laura and Zachary DeNeve; 2 brothers, James Peer of Tiffin and Michael Phillips of Somerdale, NJ; 5 sisters, Marilou Hill of Tiffin; Shirley Lampe of Clinton, IN; Sharon Goddin; Roberta Green of Edison, OH and Joanne Orluk of Lynn, MA.

Mrs. Brickner was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years; Adam in 2008; parents, step-father, Robert "Butch" Phillips, sister, Carol Sue Mead and a great granddaughter, Gracie Brown in 1994.

Jeanne was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1952 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She will be remembered for her devotion to her faith as a distributor, liturgist and past member of the Cursillo Movement, Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and Pastoral Council. She was known for her commitment to foster children and their placement. She served on the Board of Directors for Caring for Kids and worked with Hickory Farms Homes in placement of foster children throughout northwest Ohio. Jeanne was dedicated to her family as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always found a way to spend time with them, traveling around the country visiting. Her dream of going to New York City came true twice and enjoyed traveling, camping with her family and going to casinos.


A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
