Jeffery "Jeff" Stephen Schafer, 50, of Tiffin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home.

He was born on June 24, 1965 in Tiffin, Ohio, to George Stephen and Dianne (Wright) Schafer.

Survivors include his parents, G. Stephen and Diane Schafer, of Tiffin; sisters, Fayanne (Daniel) Corfman of Old Fort and Victoria (Troy) Stillberger of Sycamore; grandmother, Luella Wright of Tiffin; nieces, Christine and Amy Corfman; nephews, Kobe and Kyle Stillberger; very close friends, Carla and Rick Brown and their son, Anson Brown, of Tiffin; and good friend, Tony Schindler of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul Wright and George and Amy Schafer; and his dog, Toby.

Jeff graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1983 and served in the United States Army from December 7, 1983 to December 10, 1987 and was stationed in Germany. He mostly worked in Fostoria but for the past four years worked at Toledo Molding & Die in Tiffin as a press operator. Jeff was a member of the AmVets Post #48 and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing at Lake Erie and Lake Pymatuning. He also was very handy, was a precise woodworker and was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan. Jeff was big hearted and loved his nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, February 26, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Military services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council. There will be no burial at this time.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the Service on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County, a local veteran's group or to a charity of the donor's choice.
