Jennings W. "Fred" Stalsworth, 84, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, March 15, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 13, 1930 to Fred and Esta Buelah (Acuff) Stalsworth "Curtis" in Knoxville, TN. He married Nina Long on July 25, 1953 and she still survives.
Survivors also include 2 sons, Fred Stalsworth of Tiffin, William (Andi) Stalsworth of Naples, FL; 2 daughters, Selena (William) Roe of Tiffin, Sandra (Patrick) Fitschen of Sycamore; brother, Curtis Stalsworth of Washington Court House 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Lloyd, Bobby and Carlous; 2 sisters Rosabelle Clark and Mozelle Grey.
Fred retired from General Electric after 30 years as a lathe operator, and was co-owner of Hotel Stalsworth with his wife. He was raised in the Jr. Home, OUAM from 1936 to 1944. He attended Columbian High School then went into the United States Air Force where he was in the Korean War from 1948 to 1952 and the Berlin Air Lift. Fred enjoyed bowling, playing golf and walking.
His funeral will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Rev. Terry Steinhauer officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Fairmont cemetery
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday starting at 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County or a charity of the donor's choice.
