Jerry C. Betz, 59, of Tiffin, went home to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, December 9, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

On October 23, 1952 in Tiffin, he was born to Carl and Mary Lou (Tiell) Betz. He married Debra K. Specht on October 11, 1975.

Survivors include his wife Debra of 36 years; son Fred (Katrina) Betz of Brunswick, GA; daughter, Penny Betz of Tiffin; brothers, Ronald G. (Hilda) Betz of Phoenix, AZ; Dean J. Betz of Tiffin; sister, Janice Sue Betz of Tiffin; 3 grandchildren, Corban, Lucy, and Robert Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl who died in 1995 and Mary Lou who died in 2009.

Jerry was a member of Hopewell Church of God and a 1972 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. He worked at TRW in Kingsway from 1975-2006 as a machinist and janitor. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and music. He owned Betz Sounds, DJ Service for over 20 years with his wife.

A Memorial service will be Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell Church of God with Pastor Terry Steinhauer officiating.

Friends may visit with the family after the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Fairmont Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
