Jerry E. Piatt, 74, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday evening, July 25, 2012 at Birchaven Village in Findlay.

On October 17, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio he was born to Kenneth and Marie (Smith) Piatt. He married Carol S. Kuebler on December 26, 1959, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol, son, Kevin Piatt of Rome, NY; daughter, Karen (Adam) Gold of Fort Smith, AR; two grandchildren, Amanda and Joshua Gold.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and step mother, Lita Piatt.

He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and a 1955 graduate of Fairborn High School and Heidelberg College in 1961. He began his career with Ohio Bell and Motorola as an analyst and worked for INA Insurance Co. and USAA. He lived throughout the country and after retiring in 1993, moved to Findlay. Jerry enjoyed golfing, reading, bowling, playing baseball and weight lifting.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Frank Murd officiating at St. Francis Home Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit and share stories on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 1:00 until the time of mass at St. Francis Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to a local Humane Society, Bridge Hospice or The Alzheimer's Association.
