John W. Heyman, Sr., 76, of Tiffin, passed away Monday evening, May 2, 2016 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on November 16, 1939, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Arnold and Dora (Steele) Heyman, Sr. On May 5, 1960 he married Helen Lemmerman and they later divorced. On November 26, 1988, he married Betty I. Throneberry.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Tiffin; two sons, John W. (Sharon Baldosser) Heyman, Jr. of Republic and Barry (Lori) Heyman of Tiffin; daughter, Brenda (Fred) Decker of Tiffin; brother, Donald (Kathleen) Heyman of Tiffin; stepson, Kelly Addis of Tiffin; stepdaughter, Terri (Arnold) Jones of Tampa, FL; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David L. Heyman, James Heyman, Arnold Heyman, Jr. and four infant brothers; sisters, Mary Lentz, Frances Shellhouse, Doris Alspach and Vera Rose Berry; and stepdaughter, Pamela Addis in 1975.

John graduated in 1957 from Republic High School, attended Tiffin University and retired, after 42 years, as the regional manager from the Canteen. John played baseball in high school and also played for the Tiffin Mud Hens. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing everywhere, hunting, mushroom hunting and bowling. He also enjoyed vacationing in Florida, camping at Turtle Creek Campground & Marina for many years and was an avid Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavalier fan. John loved a good joke, was a very fun person to be around and he loved his family.

His funeral service will be at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Tress Reed officiating. There will be no burial at this time.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home.
