John R. "Duke" Homan, 69, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, December 07, 2023.
On June 12, 1954, in Tiffin, he was born to James G. and Alice L. (Brown) Homan.
Survivors include his brother, James G. (Patricia) Homan, Jr. of Tiffin; sister, Lauri D. (James) Archer of Katy, TX; nieces, Jessica Archer, Amanda (Chad) Harper and their son, Kayden; Julie (Jamie) Cholodewitsch and their children, Emily and Josef.
He was preceded in death by his mother Alice on June 21, 2015, and his father joined him on December 9, 2023.
Duke was a 1972 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and loved everything to do with motorcycles, especially his Buell. He worked as a mechanic for years at Charlies Cycle Sales in Tiffin and built and raced his own bikes. For over 20 years, he was a survey tech with HANK and Associates in Tiffin and Koehler Surveying in Upper Sandusky. He was passionate about finding, collecting and researching artifacts and a great artist working with stained glass, wood carving, and metal forging. He was quiet, kept to himself, and enjoyed his close group of friends.
A private graveside service will take place at Fairmont Cemetery.
The family would like to invite friends and family to the AmVets, 1909 S. SR. 100, Tiffin, OH 44883 on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12:00 Noon for a time of food and fellowship.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
