John A. Reinhart, 72, of Tiffin, Ohio passed away Friday, January 23, 2016 at his home.
John was born June 12, 1943, in Tiffin, Ohio, the son of the late Albert and Marie (Shultz) Reinhart.
He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Elmer Reinhart.
John grew up in the Alvada area and enjoyed farming. Surviving are his two siblings, George (Dalene) Reinhart of Port Clinton, Ohio and Rose (David) Mathias of Carey, Ohio.
In 1963, he married Joanne Huss of Alvada, Ohio, who preceded him in death in 1990. John has two surviving children, Sandy (Dennis) Clouse of Broomfield, Colorado and Jason (Jennifer) Reinhart of Wadsworth, Ohio. His oldest son, Kevin (Teresa) Reinhart, of Marshall, Michigan preceded him in death this past November. John is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews. His grandchild, Brandon Reinhart, preceded him in death in 2014.
John worked at New Riegel Elevator, 30 years at Excello Corp. In Fostoria, and 10 years at Heidelberg University in Tiffin.
John loved fishing, hunting, collecting antiques and decorating gourds. He also loved going to garage sales and flea markets. He attended St. Mary Catholic Church for the past twenty years. In addition, John was a member of the Tiffin Knights of Columbus #608, New Riegel Moose Lodge #846 and Fostoria United Sportsmen Club, where he regularly enjoyed playing cards with friends.
There will be no visitation. A service and remembrance ceremony will be held in the spring - date yet to be announced. Arrangements are under the care of Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the local cancer or diabetes organization of their choice.
