Obituary

Jon M. Blum, 85, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday morning, February 03, 2026 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.

He was born on November 14, 1940, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Richard O. and Dorothy A. (Greene) Blum. On June 22, 1963, in St. Mary Catholic Church, he married Barbara Kasza of Tiffin.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Blum, married sixty-two years. Also his sons, Jon (Lisa) Blum, Jr. of York, PA, Kevin (Heather) Blum of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Mark L. (Kristen) Blum of Atlanta, Georgia. His grandchildren include, Luke, Ethan, Ellie, Casey, Tanner, Kenzie, Karter, Cameron, Grant and Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jon graduated from Columbian High School in 1958. He was a National Machinery Scholarship winner and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for Columbian High School basketball in 1963.

He went on to graduate from the University of Toledo in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He began his career with Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After thirteen years, he was transferred to York, Pennsylvania where his family spent thirty-four years. In York, PA, Jon served as President of York Manufacturing Association and Labor Relations Committee. Jon and Barbara retired to Tiffin in 2010.

Jon enjoyed tennis, bridge, reading, family vacations and February’s in Florida.

Jon was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Together with Barbara, he enjoyed many school and athletic activities of his sons and grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 06, 2026 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 07, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 85 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 with Rev. Jesse Chick officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at St. Mary Parish rec room.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
