Obituary

Jonathan D. Hampshire, 51, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a 3.5 year battle with cancer.

He was born on October 15, 1974, in Findlay, Ohio to Nathan “Nate” and Sue (Craig) Hampshire. He married the love of his life and soulmate, Karen DeVos, on June 24, 2006, and she survives in Tiffin. He had just made it to their 20th wedding anniversary before his death. He is proceeded in death by his father, Nate, his maternal and paternal grandparents and one uncle.

Also surviving are his wonderful children, Hannah and Nathan Hampshire of Tiffin; his mother, Sue Hampshire of Tiffin; brothers, Michael (Teresa) Hampshire of Findlay; Craig (Cathy) Branson of Tiffin; sister, Michelle (Chad) McComas of Findlay; sisters in law, Kim DeVos of Bellevue; Jill (Eric) Bisignano of Gahanna; in laws, Rev. Doug and Linda DeVos of Castalia; many nieces and nephews and one great nephew.

Jon was a 1993 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and later, BGSU in communications. He worked for Tiffin City Schools for over 17 years as the Technology Coordinator and then most recently served as Office and Customer Service Support Coordinator at Bascom Communications for almost 13 years. He was a member, Deacon, Financial Secretary and volunteer at First Christian Church. He was also a past member of Tiffin Lions Club. He enjoyed family get togethers and trips with his family creating memories. Jon was a devoted husband and father who cherished every minute with his children. He never met a stranger, was a friend to everyone he met, and had a loving and caring heart. He was also very faithful, strong, courageous, and always went with the flow of everything in his life. He will be greatly missed by everyone who ever knew him or loved him, especially his four cats at home.

Friends may visit and share memories with the family on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 at First Christian Church, 2016 S. CR 19, Tiffin, Ohio 44883. A second visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, at the church from 10-11 with his funeral beginning at 11:00 with Rev. Clayton Bailey and Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church.
